Oil Caps Wrap Up 2015 With a Win

Virden, MB – Ben Dalke and Mack Hardy each had a goal and an assist as the Virden Oil Capitals knocked off the Waywayseecappo Wolverines 3-1 on Tuesday night. 

In front of the biggest crowd of the season (1253) the Oil Caps put a stamp on the 2015 calendar year as they picked up their 24th win of the season, and moved closer to the Steinbach Pistons and the Winkler Flyers in the standings. 

The Oil Caps fell behind early as Ty Enns opened the scoring on the power play. 

Mack Hardy would even things up in the 2nd period with his 22nd of the season before Ben Dalke would pot the eventual winner moments later to give the Caps a 2-1 lead. 

Nolan Ross would seal the deal with an empty netter late in the third. 

Patrick Zubick kicked aside 20 shots for his 5th win of the season while Wolverines goalie Troy Martyniuk was spectacular making 41 saves in the losing effort. 

The Oil Caps are now off again until January 5th when they head to OCN. They are back at TOGP on Saturday January 9th vs Winkler.
